About Me
I love being a Berea resident- I’ve lived here my entire adult life. I grew up in Pennsylvania and New York state, but moved to Berea in 1995 to attend Berea College. My husband Michael grew up in Berea, and we chose to stay here after we were married. I graduated in 2000 with a BA in English, and have been involved in many different kinds of work- I worked at an educational nonprofit for several years supporting parent engagement in public schools, wrote “The Knitted Slipper Book,” which was published by Abrams in 2013, and founded Native Bagel Company in 2016. I love owning a business that is located in downtown Berea.
I have two teenage boys, Avery and Julian, and two rescue dogs- Kip and Tootie.
Creative
I am a creative-thinker with an entrepreneurial streak. I am excited to hear about your big ideas and plans for what Berea could be. This is a time when innovative and creative leaders are especially needed.
Cooperative
Berea residents are all affected by the choices of local leadership and it is important to me to foster relationships with fellow leaders and constituents that are built on mutual respect. When we can work together for a common good, our whole town will move forward.
Connected
I have been fortunate to get to know so many local residents through my work, volunteer projects, kids’ school, and community involvement. I look forward to deepening these relationship as I represent you in our city leadership. I am committed to being an engaged, informed, and responsive Berea City Council member
